Richard Norman has been in the political fundraising industry for more than three decades, and founded The Richard Norman Company in 1987. During that time he has been involved in six presidential, dozens of US Senate, House of Representatives and gubernatorial campaigns, all three Republican national campaign committees, and a multitude of 527s, PACs, 501c3 and c4 organizations.

Richard has raised over one billion dollars for conservative and Republican candidates, committees and organizations through direct mail, telemarketing, TV, radio and online fundraising making him one of the nation's leading political fundraisers.

Richard and his wife, Vickie have 2 adult children and reside in rural Loudoun County, Virginia.

JD Norman grew up in Loudoun County, Virginia, and attended Woodberry Forest School near Charlottesville, Virginia.  In 2008, JD graduated from the Pamplin School of Business at Virginia Tech with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Management with a focus in Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Technology.

In 2010, JD joined Active Engagement as the Vice President of Programs.  JD oversees strategy development and implementation for all of AE's clients.  A member of the Council for National Policy, the American Association for Political Consultants and the Direct Marketing Association of Washington, JD represents Active Engagement at dozens of conferences across the country every year.

Currently, JD resides in Leesburg, Virginia with his wife, Rebecca, and children Winston (a long haired miniature dachshund) and Fluff (an oversized orange Maine Coon cat).  JD and Rebecca enjoy traveling, golfing, cooking, Hokie sports, and good foods and wines.

Brian was raised in the shadow of the nation's capital near Alexandria, Virginia, but after college settled in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley.  He is a graduate of James Madison University, where he studied Religion, Philosophy and Music.  He was first introduced to programming in grade school and was doing networking and database consulting in high school, but really found a calling in technology after discovering the Internet while interning at the Naval Research Laboratory in 1992.

After graduating in 1996, Brian started his first company; a boutique web design firm that he owned until 2004.  In 1999 he founded a broadband ISP, and has done extensive work as a technology consultant and strategist for small businesses.  He has worked with startups managing development, leading efforts to build out advertising platforms, integrating with early social networks and developing server infrastructures to handle massive scaling for file sharing services.  He also taught web design at James Madison University.

Brian has been an active leader in technology and education.  He was a founding member of the Shenandoah Valley Technology Council and served on the board for the first 5 years of the organization.  He serves on curriculum advisory boards at Blue Ridge Community College, Bridgewater College and the Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center.

Eric is a native of Midlothian, Virginia, a south-side suburb of Richmond.

He attended the University of Virginia, where he earned bachelor's degrees in Political Science and American History. While a student at The University, Eric was an active leader in both the UVA chapter of Campus Crusade for Christ and the Cavalier Marching Band.

Upon graduation, Eric joined the development department of American Majority, a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to identifying and training a "farm team" of future conservative leaders at the local and state levels. There, he composed the bulk of the organization's written content and managed the direct mail fundraising program. After two years at American Majority, Eric became an Account Manager at Active Engagement. As such, he assists clients with their day-to-day fundraising and marketing needs.

Eric lives in the heart of Historic Downtown Leesburg, Virginia with his wife, Carmen. They enjoy traveling, tasting wine, and cooking delicious food.

Mark Layman

Mark Layman is a lifelong Virginian, having grown up in Leesburg. He attended Virginia Tech and graduated from the Pamplin School of Business with a degree in Finance in 2000. In his studies, Mark focused on Risk Management and Venture Capital. He was an active member of the Delta Chi Fraternity and remains a member of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association.

After graduation, Mark worked as a financial analyst for Cambridge Associates in Arlington, Virginia. As an analyst, he worked with non-profit organizations to meet their financial goals. In 2004, Mark began selling real estate in Northern Virginia. Mark joined Active Engagement in 2012 where he works in accounting.

In his free time, Mark is an aspiring golfer with lots of potential but limited success. He is also a self-taught cook with an interest in seafood. Perhaps to maintain his youth, Mark also works part-time as a bar tender in Arlington.
